May Postcrossings

Image
I have been a member of PostCrossing for just over a month now. This is the map of my official cards sent and received. The red lines are the ones I've sent, the blue ones, the cards received.  That can be tough for even me to see, but I do have lists as well.  These are the cards I received in the month of May:  These are the cards that I sent in the month of May:  The only cards that show up on this part of the site are the PostCrossing official ones. I have received many more than these from direct swaps with other members and other "games" within the forum. I simply love getting mail that isn't bills. This has been a perfect match for my writing love.  Below are the official PostCrossing cards I've received this month:   From Canada traveled 1,823 miles in 15 days  From Michigan traveled 1,646 miles in 8 days From Finland  traveled 4,838 in 28 days From Canada traveled 2,564 miles in 13 days  From Minnesota traveled 1,151 miles in 5 days  From Germany Traveled

Since it could be awhile before I receive my first official postcards, I have joined the postcrossing forum and am getting some cards through there. Here are a couple of the ones I got for my birthday.  These first three came from a user in New Mexico as well as a birthday card.  Front Front Front I thought that was a fun way to incorporate her state into my birthday card. I loved it!  This one I received today from Germany (though she is a Japanese) so it has a bit of both languages in it.  inside the card Front That's it for now. I'm expecting quite a few more, either from "tags" that I've joined or for my birthday (next Thursday!)  I'm planning to keep posting my received cards and where they come from, just to share this fun hobby with others.

A New Project

I was doom-scrolling through a certain clock app and came across a woman talking about a website she was a part of a postcard exchange ( @oakleafacres if you are interested.) I was intrigued and immediately went to the website to learn more.  Let's just say, this was right up my alley and I signed up immediately. When you start out, it gives you a limit on how many cards you can send. Right now, that limit is five and I am at my limit. I was notified this morning that my first postcard arrived at its destination. My first postcard traveled 4,949 miles in just 8 days arriving in the Netherlands! My second postcard to arrive was to Germany. This postcard took 8 days to travel 5,325 miles. This map is going to be a fun one to watch!  The red lines are the two postcards that I sent. Once I get some, they will show up with blue lines.  I am still waiting for four to arrive to their locations:  Sent to China on April 26 Sent to Tennessee (USA) on April 26 Sent to Finland on April 26 Sin
